| Time to rethink washout periods in inflammatory bowel disease clinical trials: an international Delphi consensus.
This international Delphi consensus highlights the need to adapt current washout practices in IBD RCTs to real-world practice. Experts supported shorter and standardized washout durations-preferably less than 4 weeks-to better align with clinical practice, while maintaining patient safety. Acceptance of these recommendations by regulators could harmonize washout duration criteria, enhance recruitment efficiency, and accelerate patient access to innovative therapies without compromising safety. |

| The missing evidence: Stricturing Crohn's disease in clinical trials, a systematic review.
Prospective evidence for medical therapy in stricturing CD is limited and restricted to anti-tumor necrosis factor α agents. Imaging plays an important role in characterization and monitoring but lacks a standardized fibrosis assessment. Dedicated phenotype-specific trials and validated imaging biomarkers are needed to optimize management of stricturing CD. |

| Assessing the Responsiveness of Musculoskeletal Tissues to Protein Supplementation in vivo in Older Adults: an Exploratory Randomized Controlled Trial.
Muscle, bone, cartilage, tendon, ligament, meniscus, and periarticular soft tissue protein synthesis rates range between 0.12 and 1.17 %/d in vivo in older adults. Two weeks of protein supplementation does not seem to increase daily musculoskeletal tissue turnover. |
| Breastfeeding duration and bone mineral density in childhood: a prospective study within GUSTO cohort.
A longer BF duration and delayed CFB introduction may reflect reduced bone accrual in early childhood, inferred from bone density at 6 years, and may vary by child's sex. Recognizing these relationships is crucial for optimizing early nutrition to support strong and healthy bone development. CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRY NUMBER AND WEBSITE WHERE IT WAS OBTAINED /study/NCT01174875. |
| Carbohydrate composition of infant formula and glycemic regulation in early infancy using continuous glucose monitoring: cross-sectional evidence of altered glucose patterns with corn syrup solid-based formulas.
Infant feeding strategy was associated with differences in CGM-derived glycemic variability at 6 mo, driven by greater glucose variability among CSS-fed infants. Human milk and lactose-based formula feeding did not differ. Exploratory analyses identified a subgroup with pronounced glycemic variability that included a subset of CSS-fed infants, highlighting interindividual variability in glycemic response. |
| Dietary fish hydrolysate improves episodic memory in healthy elderly with lower level of memory performance: a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical study.
Three months of FH supplementation improved episodic memory and working memory in older adults with accelerated cognitive decline, alongside a better n-3 PUFA profile and reduced inflammation, supporting FH as a promising strategy to promote healthy cognitive aging. |
| Differences in amino acid digestibility between young and older adults: a randomized cross-over study using the dual tracer method.
Lysine and threonine digestion might be lower in older versus young adults but the effect differed among protein sources. Further research on how ageing affects protein digestibility across protein sources is needed to optimize dietary protein recommendations for older adults. Clinical trial registry NCT05534464. |
| Krill oil increase plasma omega-3 fatty acids more than fish oil in healthy adults: a double blind randomized controlled trial.
Krill oil increased plasma ω-3 FAs more than fish oil, regardless of APOE4 genotype. Individuals with higher ω-3 FA requirements may achieve adequate enrichment with lower doses of krill oil compared to fish oil supplementation. Registration number NCT04279743. In |
| Mapping transitions and inequalities in the burden of malnutrition among Chinese children and adolescents: a dual-level analysis of six nationwide surveys, 1995-2019.
The post-2010 period marked a critical nutrition transition in China, characterized by rapidly rising OWOB+anaemia at both levels and increasing population-level TBM. Reducing malnutrition burden requires nutrition-sensitive, equity-focused strategies that tackle undernutrition, OWOB, and micronutrient deficiency together. |
| Trends in Diet Quality and Associated Comprehensive Environmental Impacts in the United States, 2001-2018: A Serial Cross-Sectional Study.
Over 18 years, U.S. diet quality evolved toward healthier and more environmentally sustainable trajectories, demonstrating clear health-environment synergies. Nevertheless, rising water use and uneven progress across socioeconomic groups highlight critical trade-offs. The PHDI effectively captures these comprehensive environmental benefits. Achieving truly sustainable food systems requires integrating comprehensive environmental metrics into dietary guidelines and enacting targeted policies to ensure equitable improvements in diet quality. |

| CB2R promotes T cell gut homing and exacerbates ileitis in a murine Crohn's model.
T cell-specific deletion of CNR2, the gene encoding CB2R, attenuated chronic murine ileitis characterized by decreased naïve T cell infiltration and loss of tissue architecture in 20-week-old TNFΔARE/+ mice. This study supports further therapeutic development of CB2R-targeting drugs for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. |
| Clinicopathological features and cancer-specific survival in young patients with ulcerative colitis-associated colorectal neoplasia: a nationwide cohort study in Japan.
When diagnosed in patients aged <40 years, UCAN is characterized by earlier carcinogenesis, extensive disease, and aggressive histology, with worse CSS. The potential role of MIS in improving prognosis warrants further prospective investigation, while the outcome of SAR remains poor irrespective of patient age. |
| Early transmural response assessed by intestinal ultrasound predicts long-term clinical remission in patients with IBD: Results from the TRUST BEYOND study.
These results suggest that intestinal ultrasound is a suitable noninvasive modality to monitor patients with IBD in routine care. Transmural endpoints can be achieved in patients with IBD treated with standard of care and can predict outcomes after 1 year. |
| Prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease across states: estimates based on claims database.
Data derived from our previously published pooled administrative claims database analysis were applied to estimate race-weighted state-specific prevalences of inflammatory bowel diseases in the United States to support public health, clinical, and research initiatives at the state and regional level. |

| Beyond the bowel: three rare complications of upadacitinib therapy in inflammatory bowel disease.
We describe three complications temporally associated with therapy: invasive hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), severe anemia requiring transfusion in the setting of refractory pouchitis with acute pulmonary embolism, and pulmonary blastomycosis. Although causality cannot be established, these cases highlight the need for vigilance for malignancy, hematologic abnormalities, and opportunistic infections, and emphasize careful risk stratification, individualized monitoring, and prompt evaluation of atypical symptoms. |
| Hyperbaric oxygen therapy alters bowel perfusion and improves outcomes in patients with treatment-refractory ulcerative colitis: a prospective pilot trial.
HBOT is a well-tolerated adjunctive therapy in refractory UC, which improved clinical outcomes and perfusion kinetics. These findings support further evaluation in a randomized, dose-optimized trial.Euclinicaltrials.eu, EU CT number 2024-515278-28-00. |

| A diagnostic accuracy study of mitochondrial FMN during hypothermic oxygenated perfusion to guide liver utilization and avoid normothermic assessment.
FMN release during DHOPE is associated with subsequent NMP viability outcomes in ECD-DCD livers. FMN concentrations may help identify viable and non-viable grafts early during DHOPE, potentially avoiding resource-intensive comprehensive viability assessment with COR-NMP. |
| Physiological responses to the six-minute walk test in frail/pre-frail patients with cirrhosis awaiting transplantation.
Individuals with cirrhosis awaiting transplantation have reduced aerobic endurance and delayed VO₂ recovery reinforcing the rationale for prehabilitation and suggesting that extended recovery periods during exercise training may be beneficial. |
