| Incidence of acne in patients with inflammatory bowel disease treated with Janus kinase inhibitors: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Acne is a common adverse event in IBD patients treated with JAK inhibitors. The reported incidence of acne was significantly higher with upadacitinib, in the pediatric population, and numerically higher during the induction phase of treatment. |
| Prevalence of disability in inflammatory bowel disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
This systematic review is the first, to our knowledge, to show that moderate-to-severe disability affects nearly one-third of patients with IBD, with higher rates in Crohn disease and active disease. Importantly, disability persists in a substantial proportion of patients even during remission, supporting the need for systematic assessment across clinical settings. |

| Independent effects of whey protein and alkali supplementation on muscle health in healthy older adults: factorial randomized controlled trial.
Objectives To determine the effects of whey protein (WP) and alkali (potassium bicarbonate, KHCO supplement for 24 weeks improved measures of muscle power, physical performance or muscle mass despite achieving higher circulating IGF-1 levels. Clinical trial registry number NCT04048616 All procedures performed in studies involving human participants were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and/or national research committee and with the 1964 Helsinki declaration and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards. |
| Infant hyperglycemic excursions by Saliva 1,5-Anhydroglucitol varied by weight status, rapid weight gain and mode of feeding: an exploratory secondary analysis.
These results suggest that human milk-fed infants have fewer HEs compared with EFF infants. Lower saliva 1,5- AG levels were associated with an increase in WAZ and RWG. Additional analyses are needed to evaluate the underlying drivers of HEs and their association with infant growth and health. Clinical trial registration |
| Perspective: Nutrient bioavailability is the missing ingredient connecting food systems to nutrition security and environmental sustainability.
We conclude with a discussion of current best practices, highlighting avenues for future research to account for bioavailability and more accurately evaluate and propose nutritionally adequate diets. This perspective suggests that, while existing data limitations should not preclude food systems researchers from accounting for bioavailability, a concerted effort is needed to develop more consistent and representative estimates of bioavailability across a variety of nutrients. |
| Prevalence and determinants of stunting, overweight, and concurrent stunting and overweight among children aged 6 to 23 months in 40 low- and middle-income countries, 2015‒2024.
Although stunting dominates in LMICs, CSO reveals 2 distinct patterns. The paradox-where maternal education reduces stunting but may raise overweight-combined with the roles of wealth and timely complementary feeding in reducing CSO, necessitates integrated, context-specific "double-duty" interventions. |
| The relationship between obesity, calorie delivery and mortality in the critically ill: a post hoc analysis of The Augmented versus Routine Approach to Giving Energy Trial.
In this post hoc study of critically ill patients receiving enteral nutrition, obesity confers a relative survival advantage to 90 d. Reduced calorie delivery is associated with increased risk of death in the group with obesity and the nonobese, but calorie threshold for the group with obesity varies according to the method of body weight calculation. This study was registered at TARGET trial clinicaltrials.gov number as NCT02306746. |
| Ultra-processed foods consumption and risk of preeclampsia. A secondary analysis of the IMPACT BCN randomized clinical trial.
In a high-risk population, a higher change in dietary intake of UPF consumption from the second to third trimester of pregnancy was associated with a higher risk of preeclampsia. |

| Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes derived from induced pluripotent stem cells ameliorate inflammation and promote mucosal healing via miR-34a-5p in Crohn disease.
iPSC-MSC-Exos ameliorated colitis and promoted mucosal healing in a TNBS-induced CD-like model by activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling via miR-34a-5p, which targets PPP2R3A. |
| Mirikizumab four-year sustained and durable efficacy and safety in ulcerative colitis: Final findings from the LUCENT-3 open-label extension study.
Mirikizumab provided sustained symptomatic, clinical, endoscopic, and histologic benefits over 4 years in responding patients with moderately-to-severely active UC, including those with prior biologic failure. These treatment goals, which are integral to comprehensive disease management, support the long-term use of mirikizumab. |
| Model psychosocial care for youth with inflammatory bowel disease.
Ultimately, identification of the intensity of psychosocial needs and associated appropriate levels of intervention for youth with IBD can be challenging to ascertain. However, with this review we hope to simplify that process so IBD providers with a variety of professional backgrounds and resources can help assess and connect patients with the appropriate support. |
| Unique challenges faced by tweens and teens with inflammatory bowel disease: a global perspective.
This review article brings together current evidence reported by pediatric IBD clinicians worldwide to highlight these issues. While many challenges are universal, some are region specific and reflect geographic disparities in care. |
| Updated pathologic classification of inflammatory bowel disease-associated colorectal dysplasia: A guide for clinicians.
It outlines the historical basis and rationale for the updated classification; describes the morphologic, endoscopic, and molecular features of newly recognized neoplastic precursor subtypes; and summarizes the emerging, though still incomplete, evidence linking these features to clinical outcomes. By placing current findings in context and highlighting persisting knowledge gaps, we provide clinicians with a conceptual foundation for interpreting the new classification and understanding its potential implications for surveillance and therapeutic decision-making. |

| Risk of intestinal cancer in Crohn's disease: re-analysis and meta-regression of population-based cohort studies.
CD is associated with heightened CRC and SBC risks, varying by disease location. These findings underscore the need for tailored cancer screening and further research into the impact of environmental and genetic factors on cancer risk in CD patients. |
| TWEAK is increased in ulcerative colitis and contributes to fibroblast-mediated monocyte activation via heterologous non-canonical NF-kB/STAT3 signaling.
Together, our findings suggest that the TWEAK/NF-κB/STAT3 axis represents an attractive target to tune inflammatory stroma/monocyte crosstalk. |

| Does stigma reduce hazardous health behaviors contributing to steatotic liver disease?
e., structural nudging, social norms and consequences, and motivational interviewing, respectively). In this article, we analyze these related yet distinct constructs in ways pertinent to liver disease and transplantation, indicating where they might be applied and further studied. |
| Donor-derived cell-free DNA in combination with liver function tests for biopsy decision-making in pediatric liver transplantation.
In this large pediatric study, we demonstrate for the first time that low dd-cfDNA levels can reliably identify liver transplant patients at low risk of rejection, improving the tailoring of surveillance biopsies when used alongside LFTs. |

| Seasonal patterns and dynamics of acute pancreatitis emergency department visits in Korea.
This study demonstrated a pronounced summer peak in AP visits among both pediatric and adult populations in Korea. Campylobacter and Salmonella species may be linked to this seasonal pattern, suggesting a temporal association between infections with these species and AP seasonality. Further research is needed to clarify other mechanisms underlying seasonal AP surges and inform targeted preventive strategies. |
| Transcriptomic profiling of insulinomas reveals a new "low-endocrine" subtype with low YY1 expressions.
We found a low-endocrine subtype insulinoma with reduced YY1 expression and insulin synthesis transcriptomic signature. This highlights the transcriptomic heterogeneity of insulinomas. |
